Cookie Statement

This is the cookie statement for MiKnow, the online platform designed for blended learning (after this website) of Nijssen Adviesbureau voor Informatica B.V., known under the trade names PNA and PNA GROUP, and the subsidiaries of Nijssen Adviesbureau voor Informatica B.V., being PNA B.V., PNA Products B.V., PNA ActiveMedia B.V. and PNA Ventures B.V. (jointly ‘PNA’, ‘PNA Group’, ‘we, ‘us’).

At PNA we value the protection of your privacy and the security of your personal data a lot. This cookie statement informs you about the use of cookies in the context of our collaboration with LearnWorlds, our SaaS-provider for the development and offering of courses. This cookie statement is solely applicable in this context and specifically drawn up for the MiKnow online platform, the course environment of PNA, realized by PNA with the cloud application of LearnWorlds, hosted by LearnWorlds.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. In these text files information is saved that can later be read. Cookies are used to allow the website to work better at a later point, to improve the user experience and to collect information about the use of the website.

2. What cookies do we use?

The functionality and workings of the SaaS service that PNA procured from LearnWorlds is a given. The category and number of cookies that are placed with you is directly connected to this functionality and these workings.

PNA influences certain cookies through the option to use or not use functionality, but some cookies are mandatory for LearnWorlds to allow the course environment to function well. PNA has no authority over this. LearnWorlds determines, through functionality and workings, if, how and where cookies are stored. LearnWorlds can make (new) functionality available that places cookies or makes them obsolete.  

The category and number of cookies that are placed therefore varies per course environment, because it depends on the functionality, and over time, because it depends on the available functionality that can change. For a full overview of all individual cookies see the 'Cookie Policy Template' page of LearnWorlds that describes what cookies are placed when all LearnWorlds functionalities are enabled.

For you it is important that permission is needed for the placement of non-essential cookies. In order to not determine and do this for every individual cookie, the cookies are divided into categories, and you are asked for permission per category through a cookie banner that is offered by LearnWorlds as functionality and activated by PNA.  

The following categories are recognized:
  • Necessary cookies: These cookies are essential for the functioning and cannot be disabled. For example, cookies that contain session information and make sure you stay logged in. By using our course environment, you agree to the placement of these cookies.
  • Functional cookies: These cookies allow us to offer additional functionality and personalization like remembering entered information or decisions taken.
  • Analytics cookies: These cookies track information on visits to our course environment so we can make improvements and report on our performance. This includes the collection of information on how visitors use the website, what site or page they came from, the number of visits and how long the user stays on the website. The goal is to, among other things, analyze the user’s behavior to offer extra functionality or improve the content of the course.
  • Marketing cookies: These cookies are used to track users over websites. The purpose is to show advertising that is relevant and compelling to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times that you see an advertisement and to measure the effectiveness of campaigns. These cookies are often placed by third parties (in other words not by LearnWorlds and not by PNA) that LearnWorlds collaborates with.

Through the link "accept individual cookies" you can give permission through the above-mentioned categories to either place or not place the cookies in a category. This looks as follows:
We use cookies to make sure that our course environment functions well and to offer you an optimal user experience. Next to that we use cookies for analytical purposes to get insight into the use of our courses and to improve our services. Therefore, PNA advises that you always give permission to place both functional and analytical cookies. 

3. How can you manage your cookie preferences?

If you have an account and are logged in you can manage your cookie preferences through your profile:
In all other cases, or if you knowingly do not want any cookies to be placed, you can refuse the use of cookies and/or optionally delete already present cookies through the settings or options of your browser. More information about this can be found in the privacy statement (see 4). Notice that it is possible that after doing this some parts of the course environment cannot be used correctly anymore. You have to change the settings of each browser on each computer separately. If needed, consult an external website with more information about this for the browser and the version of the browser you use. 

A caveat is that any non-standard more strictly configured privacy settings in your browser set by you (or your organization) and/or any installed active additional privacy-focused browser extensions (e.g. Malwarebytes browser guard) can (potentially unknowingly) cause none or not all expect cookies to be present. This can negatively influence the working of the course environment. This is outside of the responsibilities, sphere of influence and scope of PNA and LearnWorlds.

4. Privacy statement

Your privacy is important to us. Consult the privacy statement for more information about how we collect, use and protect your personal data. Among other things you will find information about your rights concerning the processing of your personal data, our collaboration with LearnWorlds, SaaS, the cookie policy, how you can either allow cookies or not and where you can go with a notice, request, inquiry or complaint.

5. Changes

This cookie policy can be changed by PNA without prior notice. If the use of cookies on this website changes, for example because of new or changed functionality or laws and regulations, then we will adapt the terms of use accordingly if needed. Therefore, it is recommended to regularly consult the cookie policy.

Changes come into effect from the moment they are published there. This cookie policy was changed last on 05 August 2025.

6. Applicable law

No single party has the right to claim liability, compensation, monetary amounts or other claims, whether or not through a judge, from PNA based on the activities, events or circumstances that are beyond the reasonable control or influence of PNA. PNA expressly excludes every form of liability that results from or relates to such activities, events or circumstances.

With disputes, conflicts or differences in interpretation of translated text concerning that which is inside out sphere of influence, the present cookie statement, our privacy statement, out terms of use or, in the case where these do not provide a definite answer, our view prevails.

This cookie statement is ruled by and interpreted in accordance with the Dutch law. All disputes that arise from or relate to this cookie statement are submitted exclusively to a competent judge in the district Limburg, location Maastricht.
